Marco Rubio: Time for civilization to fight the darkness

But the Mahommedan religion increases, instead of lessening, the fury of intolerance…In each case civilisation is confronted with militant Mahommedanism. The forces of progress clash with those of reaction. The religion of blood and war is face to face with that of peace.—The Story of the Malakand Field Force (1898); Winston Churchill, British war time leader, statesman, Nobel Laureate.

If you are not prepared to use force to defend civilization, then be prepared to accept barbarism.—Knowledge and Decisions (1980); Thomas Sowell, American economist, thinker, and author.

by Sanjay Perera

WESTERN civilisation as we know it is falling with Newton’s acceleration due to gravity which takes place in a vacuum. The gravity of the situation of unconscionable open borders, rising usurpation of social spaces in western states by their enemies through mass prayers and protests, wokeist activism and the violence that stems from all of this—accelerates the fall of the West. It takes places in a moral vacuum especially since for years in the West Christian spirituality, the bedrock of its civilisation, has been eroded steadily. The recent brutal murder of the doyen of British politics, Ms Ann Widdecombe, represents how far Broken Britain (formerly Great Britain) has fallen. Her alleged killer seems to have been interested in various political ideologies including left-wing material. Ms Widdecombe was reportedly murdered after she chatted to a Christian radio station. Details so far state that the alleged murderer used a hammer to strike her head many times as she had lunch at home.

She was not only once a part of the Conservative government but was Reform UK’s immigration and justice spokesperson at the time of her death. The local British police bungled the investigation claiming initially that it was a burglary gone wrong (which no one believed but given the standard of Britain’s policing was predictable); inevitably, the Counter Terrorism Police stepped in revealing that the murder could be politically motivated, which implies that it might be an assassination: which does not surprise any reasonable person. Equally unsurprising, given the state of affairs in Britain, the leader of the party Ms Widdecombe belonged to—Reform UK’s Nigel Farage, a Member of Parliament—has received hundreds of death threats; but following Ms Widdecombe’s horrific death some official scrutiny is being given finally to his safety. However, his safety was disregarded conveniently for some time by the government. He currently spends a hefty amount on his own security. Yet what kind of a mind, and what type of influences, can drive someone to kill a 78-year old woman by hitting her 21 times in the head? It is not just this: Britain is sinking fast into third world status on many fronts, and it is symbolic of the collapse of the West.

This descent into third world stature is not endemic to Europe. US President Donald Trump in an important announcement commented on the credibility of some of the most important elections in his country; he is still trying to get legislation passed that ensures that only eligible American citizens take part in the electoral process; that requires proper voter identification instead of the current dubious system of verification. Additionally, the voter records are apparently insecure which is quite a revelation:

Put together, these disclosures reveal an election system so broken and so vulnerable that no one can possibly defend it. It is not defensible. Hundreds of millions of US voter files are in the hands of foreign governments. Our machines and ballot counting systems are exposed to hacking and manipulation and corruption. China and other countries have been trying to meddle in our elections. Evidence of fraud has been buried.

Hundreds of thousands of non-citizens and dead people are listed and active on the voter rolls. And yet we still have elections with no voter ID, no proof of citizenship, and tens of millions of ballots floating aimlessly through the mail. As one example of the insanity, California’s recent election for mayor of LA [Los Angeles] and governor, was held on June 2nd, long time ago, but it was just completed a few days ago, on July 10th. Think of that, much more than one month. Took a month to count the votes. I wonder what they were doing.

This is worse than any third world country. There’s no third world country that has elections like we have. In a rare move, NBC and ABC fake news have both said that they would not cover this speech. They knew what it was about, because of the fact that they don’t like the topic, because they know how corrupt our system is and they don’t want to reveal it…They want to protect the radical left.

The irony of our times is that any force that seems to stand for order, stability, sanity, safety of its people, and prosperity for all those willing to do their part: has been branded as ‘Far Right’ but anything that stands against this is treated as normalcy. This begs the question: if there is indeed a ‘Far Right’ then what is the ‘Far Left’? Why is that never articulated? What is not used by those who habitually accuse whoever they despise as ‘Far Right’ is the term ‘left’, certainly not ‘Far Left’ to describe any activities as such: particularly those that are violent, disruptive, destroy national identity, the integrity of a state or endangers the citizenry. The corollary is that nothing traumatic or heinous occurs in their societies other than when order, stability, any attempts to quell chaos, activist and Islamist violence, or uncontrolled mass illegal immigration is enforced: that then is ‘Far Right’. This reflects the dishonesty characterising much of the powermongers and mainstream media who abet them: that not only is ‘Far Left’ hardly used but no one on the planet seems to be guilty of it. Just as the term ‘phobia’ is bandied about when linked to something termed illogically as the ‘religion of peace’ which obscures the reality that it promotes violence and terror; and the actually peaceful teachings in Buddhism, Taoism or Zen are never connected to phobias because in truth it does not make sense to do so: the term ‘Far Right’ is meant to distract from the inherent violence and destructive drive of the ‘Far Left’: that the former is deemed extreme and dangerous but the latter is neither extreme nor dangerous is indeed nonsense.

This entire terminological enterprise is meant to confuse, exploit cognitive dissonance, and bamboozle the gullible. The abuse of language and distortion of meaning is political obfuscation of the worst kind; the leftists of today have little to do with the revolutionary struggles of early Marxist or Communist movements. Back then there was an agenda, this time nothing is articulated clearly; the socialists and anarchists of the past had intellectuals who theorised brilliantly at times, and took part in political activity undergoing great risk. There was, of course, violence but it was reciprocated effectively by those they opposed. This does not excuse the enormous suffering caused (and is still caused) by communist regimes—but these systems are like many others; they are manifestations of totalitarianism which are apparent today in what are considered western democratic states. Authoritarianism and totalitarianism are not confined to Marxist-socialist-communist regimes: as Orwell and Huxley did their best to show.

The proscribed group apparently held sessions days after Ann Widdecombe’s violent death. Picture credit: Andy Ngo.

However, in our day the faux-Marxists and pseudo-Communists are the epigones that Trotsky warned about. Many of them, some of whom are quite well-to-do, are not struggling activists from the underground fighting for workers’ rights or embroiled in ‘class warfare’: the latter barely exists in our time. These are the ‘champagne socialists’, Wokeists and Islamists, etc. (e.g. ultra wealthy New York Mayor Mamdani): their obsession with open borders has nothing to do with traditional Marxism-communism in that communist states are closed entities controlling entry; according to Marxist doctrine Islamism is as much an opiate of the masses as any other religion. Unless, Islamism is an ideology as opposed to a religion then that could explain why leftists these days embrace it (or vice-versa) as it syncs with their obsession with the ideological: implying that religion proper should be attacked due to its spirituality (e.g. Christianity et al.); but an internationalist system or organisation that has tentacles everywhere trying to subvert, infiltrate, disrupt, undermine, ruin and proselytise others has much in common; open borders are for states they try to invade not the ones they eventually control: hence, the collaboration at the moment between the Far Left and Islamists. However, the Islamists were using such strategy and tactics long before Marxists and communists employed them.

Currently, the UK Greens indulge in a heady cocktail of bordelessness, Islamism, and tolerance for drug-use as part of their so-called agenda: the claim that they want to decriminalise drugs and have them regulated is the same as allowing for drug use cocooned in meaningless verbiage. Much of what the Greens advocate (barring perhaps manifest promotion of drug use) are consonant with what the US Democrats, UK’s Labour and the supposedly conservative Tories, and many mainstream left-oriented European parties would accept: but how can they all be like-minded in such matters, or all be Marxist or communist in leaning? Essentially, there is rarely a difference in views between them: and they are all open to the Islamisation of their societies. Thus, it is helpful to clarify the situation by terming this particular socio-political abomination of promoting borderlessness, Wokeism, Islamism, no proper security but persecution for citizens of states hosting mass illegal migrants, two-tier policing, so forth: as a form of the ‘Far Left’. The violence and terror precipitated from such a political stance—though never openly endorsed by the political parties that dominate Europe or the US Democrats—can be termed as Far Left Terrorism. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s use of the term in what follows is appropriate. He does not use this definition in its entirety but the logic of today’s politics mesh with the content of his speech.

Today’s Far Left or even leftists would not even know what is Marx’s theory of the surplus value of labour; they know all about ranting, hating, moral emptiness, and blind violence. Notwithstanding, branding is crucial. Picture credit: Dave Whamond.

Hence, Rubio’s notable remarks at the recent ‘Opening of the Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism’:

The most essential duty of the state—the first responsibility, frankly, of any government of any kind—is the protection of its people, is the protection of its country. This is a sacred obligation that should transcend all political and all ideological divisions. It is why, for example, we have militaries. It’s why we have intelligence agencies. It’s why counterterrorism bureaus exist, why police forces exist. Keeping our people safe is the reason why every country represented here has all of these things.

We are all very well acquainted as of now, of course, with what has been described as traditional terrorist threats. For 25 years, the term counterterrorism—at least in the West—has meant, first and foremost, the fight against radical Islamist extremism…

For far too long, however, our counterterrorism doctrine has had a blind spot—a blind spot when it comes to extremist violence from the political left. Even today, the very idea that far-left terrorism could be a serious threat is treated as a right-wing fever dream, or worse, as a dangerous fascist conspiracy. It’s treated this way by many in the press, by many in academia and our universities, and by many of our legacy institutions…

For years, this extraordinary ideological prejudice was embedded in the way we talked about political violence and extremism…It is the reason why, here in my country, so many people in positions of power have repeatedly dismissed acts of violence and even terrorism as legitimate forms of political expression so long as they served a left-wing cause.

It is why during those George Floyd—so-called George Floyd—riots in the summer of 2020, as criminals and extremists burned and looted their way through America’s great cities and nearly brought the country to its knees, city governments all across the country simply refused to prosecute the people conducting these acts of violence and terror. It is the reason for the now infamous image—and you all recall this—of a news anchor from a very prominent agency—a news anchor standing in a neighborhood consumed in flames; meanwhile the chyron on the bottom read that the protests were mostly peaceful. This was something worse than a double standard. Left-wing violence was not just excused; it was treated as sacrosanct, a protected class unto itself…

Demonstrators protest the death of George Floyd, May 2020, near the White House, Washington., D.C.. Floyd died after being restrained by Minneapolis police. The point is that violence as a means of protest is a way of life in western states; this is usually associated with third world situations. Picture credit: Evan Vucci.

Far-left political terrorism is not a recent-day, modern novelty. It is not a fiction manufactured by conservative politicians. For most of the modern era, it was, in fact, the dominant form of political violence…

Here in the United States, the share of left-wing terrorist attacks and plots has risen to levels not seen in decades. In Germany, far-left violence has jumped by more than 40 percent in just the last year alone. In Greece, more than 80 percent of radical violence is now driven by far-left and anarchist actors. These are not abstract statistics.

Americans have seen what those numbers mean—an all-out assault on our immigration officers, sniper attacks, explosives, armed ambushes. A transgender shooter opening fire on Catholic elementary school students as they pray, his gun marked with slogans like, “Where is your God now?” A health care executive executed in cold blood in the streets. Multiple assassination attempts on a sitting president [Trump]. And the murder of the greatest conservative activist of a generation [Charlie Kirk], a man who happened also to be a husband and the father of two young children, shot and killed while speaking to a crowd of students.

This is a distinctive and unique evil. It has always been driven by a hatred above all else, a hatred for civilization itself…It is time for the people of the civilized world to defend ourselves, to stand united against this encroaching darkness, and fight—fight for what is ours.

It is easy to destroy great things; it is far more difficult to make them. The enemies of civilization are only capable of the former. They are only capable of destroying great things. All they know is destruction.

Reform UK’s Nigel Farage stated recently:

And together we’ll fight and win that next election and begin something that is vital. Because if we don’t, we’re going to go bust. If we don’t, hundreds of thousands more of our brightest and young best, as they’re doing already, will flee our nation and live elsewhere. If we don’t, our history, our culture will continue to be traduced throughout the education system and elsewhere.

I honestly believe we’re less than a decade away from effectively turning in to a third world country. And I will be damned if I’m going to see that. And I’m putting my shoulder to the wheel. And I urge those of you in the audience who have the same sense of urgency that I do about the problems that we face to put your shoulders to the wheel as well. And there is one very valuable thing that history does teach us, which is that this country’s been in big trouble before, but it’s always got itself out of it. And we’re in big trouble now.

Separately, Farage adds: “The country is going down the drain. Britain is broken…And I would argue actually unless we get radical change, this country frankly is finished.”

This happens as opportunistic Labourite Andy Burnham replaced quisling and failed British premier Keir Starmer who was forced out by his back-stabbing party. Burnham, predicted to be worse than Starmer, is already proving a rival to failed US presidential candidate Kamala Harris in terms of diction; his rhetoric includes: “I am for us. Bring back hope, lifting every postcode” (Or “Good growth in every postcode and hope in every heart.”)—using demagoguery reminiscent of Mussolini. Upon taking over as prime minister Burnham, described as the “least democratically elected prime minister” for he was shuffled into the post, uttered pablum: nothing of national urgency was addressed such as incessant illegal immigration, rising crime, poor policing, exorbitant cost-of-living, or the rising national debt; and now early release of criminals from prison. Burnham is Britain’s seventh premier in 10 years: not a benchmark of a first world state. This is called ‘rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic’: whoever from the two nominally different but disastrously similar Tory and Labour parties leave or come in as leaders, we know how it ends.

The state of Broken Britain is paradigmatic of the impending European catastrophe due to economic problems, rising social crises, untrammelled illegal immigration, mindless Islamism, an increasingly fractured society, and the spiritual crisis of Christianity itself—the mainstay of European identity that is being erased. This is enhanced by rising Wokeism as Journalist Ben Leo says:

At Surrey Police, officers are reportedly being asked to write essays on how to create an anti-racist police service as part of DEI [Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion] courses said to have cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of pounds. So under the scheme, officers are required to submit 500-word reflections on the forces approach to tackling racism.

Meanwhile, Northamptonshire police are being taught that Brexit is to blame for a rise in far-right hate. And that’s not all. City of London police spent just over 190,000 pounds on external training between 2025 and 2026, just one year, with officers agreeing to host a listening circle centered on the conflict in Gaza.

I just don’t know what we’re doing here. This is meant to be our police forces tackling rapes, burglaries, death threats. Let’s talk about death threats. Nigel Farage, hundreds of death threats. Somebody arrested from a threat in May; Ann Widdecombe just slain. And we have officers sitting down in listening circles talking about Gaza. We have Surrey police officers writing 500-word essays about the forces approach to tackling racism. Northamptonshire police being taught that Brexit is to blame for a rise in far-right hate.

This is the kind of low-grade amateurish college style behavior that we were just talking about in parliament from MPs. What is going on in Britain? The rot runs deep and it’s embarrassing. Is it any wonder that nobody has respect for the police any anymore?

Number of illegals who arrived a week into Burnham’s premiership are at least 900, exceeding ‘538’ above; credit: Nigel Farage’s X account.

This indoctrination of the police with wokeist ideology is compounded by the increasing social blight of illegal encampments. Journalist Samara Gill informs that much of these are due to illegal migrants, who indulge in alcohol and drugs, living off the UK government’s welfare programme designed for them:

I just don’t know how far we’ve fallen that we’ve allowed these people to fester in the capital city and it’s not a good look for tourists at all; on a much more sort of a vanity point of view it just doesn’t look good. You’ve got hordes of American tourists, Chinese, Japanese coming to spend their money in our city and it looks like a third world country…

Park Lane and Marble Arch and our great capital, once great capital, like it is their private property and their private home and it is now a no-go area…

This cannot go on. They need to be cleared out. Some of them need to be arrested. Frankly, a bunch of them admitted to not even having papers and being here illegally. They’ve been pick-pocketing. They’ve been making the Sainsbury’s and M&S [Marks & Spencer] staff absolute hell. They’ve been shoplifting…they’re selling drugs.

I don’t want to just brush them off as just a couple of travelers, you know, camping out…these are actual gangs and syndicates that are operating in London streets.

The catastrophic conduct of the police in the murder of Henry Nowak due to their obsession with wokeist concerns over ‘racism’, and the botched attempt to downplay the killing of Ann Widdecombe as a burglary (when it may be an assassination) only confirms the pathetic state of policing in the UK. This is not reflective of a developed society or first world state.

All know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world…Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.

The River War (1899); Winston Churchill (1874-1965), British Prime Minister, and writer.

Despite all this the genuine problem of heightened Islamism that is inimical to the core identity of the West—what remains of it—continues to be ignored and downplayed. This is an ongoing civilisational conflict that has continued through the Islamist invasion and invitation into the West, and the ongoing war with Iran. As author and commentator Raymond Ibrahim explains providing a historical context:

But a new persecutor arises, one that if not necessarily surpassing the quality of Rome’s atrocities against Christians, not necessarily but maybe has far surpassed the quantity of the persecutions that pagan Rome foisted on Christianity. And that persecutor was and remains Islam.

Why [does] Islam [have] so much animus towards Christianity: you need to remember that in many ways it seems to have been a cult or creed that was created precisely to be set against and to devastate the Christian world. Suffice to say, let’s look at some core doctrines in Islam.

You have to remember that Islam as a religion actually condemns Christian teaching in its most core and holy scriptures. That’s pretty rare for a religion.

Hinduism doesn’t do that. Buddhism doesn’t do that. Shintoism doesn’t do that. Confucianism doesn’t do that. Paganism doesn’t do that. Islam does in its core texts condemn Christian teaching.[1]

It is contemptuous for these far-Left extremists to claim they are non-violent when they continue to incite supporters with sinister hammer imagery, even after the shocking news that Ann Widdecombe died after multiple hammer blows to the head.
It took five years for the UK government to act against Palestine Action, after a campaign in which [an activist] smashed a policewoman’s spine with a sledgehammer, intimidated thousands of working people and attacked sites critically important to defending the UK from hostile states.

In a guide distributed to activists, Bash Back instructs them to cause “direct harm” with “lasting effect”. Borrowing the methods of direct action campaigns organised by pro-Palestinian and environmental activists, the group is urging supporters to identify “transphobic” targets and then “hit them repeatedly until they desist from their activities”. The upshot is that the West is falling fast, it is a civilisation that is being divided from within with help from without. It is no longer merely infiltration but mass immigration via invitation of the least qualified and the most deleterious to the welfare of citizens in western states. The merger between the Far Left and Islamists is termed the red-green axis: seemingly unlikely cohabitators but allies in a cause to destroy western civilisation and culture, as a start. What is not apparent yet is that if Islamists gain significant influence in European states, particularly Britain and France, they will have access to nuclear weapons at some point. Iran and Pakistan are two nuclear points poised against non-Islamist states (though Iran is comfortable attacking fellow Islamists if needed). Asian civilisations and others need to be aware of this encroaching danger.

The Far Left who are sponsored by ‘champagne socialists’ (an analogue to globalists, political elites) are allies in this cause; but they are replaceable and will be erased as well, by the rising populace of the Islamists: the secularist Far Left is not known for procreation but every form of social mutation that does not lead to families and children: for ‘diversity is strength’; diversity in genders, freakishness, self-mutilation, viciousness, lawlessnes, hatred and destruction: their message—that is what the world needs to be a better place. The West is losing the demographic war to Islamists. Bringing in the enemy to outbreed the local population and help impoverish the country through living off welfare ineluctably sows divisions within society that consequently lead to socio-political and economic instability.

This great scattering of civilisation and any semblance of order, this nurturing of another force that engenders violence demanding intolerance and total submission to aggression under the guise of religion is encapsulated by the term diabolos: the Greek term has a root meaning of slandering, throwing apart, causing discord, scattering and casting away—all that is happening to Western civilisation and any society that is not alert to the intensifying red-green axis. The core nihilism and violence of this unholy alliance is the cultish celebration of death; it is social disintegration, ruination of nation states, identity of peoples and socio-economic prosperity, stability, democracy. A society plagued by fake news due to deliberate misreporting, character assassination of those who stand up to the Establishment: these complement the other word, a title from Hebrew—ha-satan better known as “the Enemy, Adversary, Opposer, Accuser”, the slanderer of old. As was pointed out millennia ago a house divided, families divided, a society divided, a country divided, and a civilisation divided—cannot stand. A society that accuses its own people of wrong and prosecutes them when they stand for their national identity and the survival of their country against usurpers; one that disperses the national good into the wind through massive waste of resources, fraud, undeserved aid and welfare to the pernicious: that is a society infected by the demonic: it is a casting into the body politic of the diabolical. It is the embodiment of radical evil. It is a darkness that must be resisted.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.

Matthew 12:25

End note:

[1] This includes Jesus not being a Son of God, that God cannot be represented as the Holy Trinity; these are central Christian concepts. Prior to Christianity, Hinduism also represents the Divine as a Trinity. That implies Islam would object to this; it would certainly object to the concept of the Hindu Avatar who is a manifestation of the Divine in the world—technically, the Avatar is a ‘Son of God’ or manifestation of Godhead in human form.
